A note on what to expect
Sailing is an outdoor sport, to be enjoyed in almost all weather. We will not sail if conditions are dangerous, but we will sail in light rain, strong breezes, and in all typical temperatures experienced in Spring, Summer and Fall in the Okanagan Valley. It might be as cool as 10 degrees C (50 F) or as warm as 40 degrees C (100 F).
It usually feels cooler on the water so pack a windbreaker, even on a hot day. If there is no wind we will concentrate on docking, anchoring, theory, knots etc. Almost always the wind comes back within an hour or two in the Okanagan.
It is not essential to be a swimmer to enjoy sailing a keelboat. We will provide you with a top quality life vest and will ask that you wear it whilst we are out on the water.
