Okanagan Yachting sailing school offers a variety of sailing lessons and sailing courses out of Summerland on Lake Okanagan in beautiful BC. There are some top class wineries to visit when you are not sailing.

I am flexible. Please tell me your preferred dates and the type of course you wish to do and I will try to accommodate your needs.

The CYA Basic Cruising Standard

This four and a half day course leads, for successful candidates, to the CYA Basic Cruising Standard Certification. It allows you to charter sailboats in most locations worldwide.
The course objective is to be able to cruise safely in familiar waters in moderate conditions by day. You will learn about and practice points of sail, docking, tacking and gybing, knots, anchoring and 'crew-overboard' rescue procedures. Other subjects include gear and equipment, maintenance, collision regulations, charts and navigating, and manoeuvring under power.

 $725 Cdn includes textbook, logbook, taxes, everthing except food and lodging

 Per person rate, semi-private (two students)

 $990 Cdn includes 1 textbook per couple, logbooks, taxes, everything except food and lodging

Most of the time is spent sailing. This is a four and a half day course, either Monday to Friday, over a weekend (Thursday to Monday) or over two consecutive weekends. VERY SMALL CLASSES, MAXIMUM 4 STUDENTS.
