If you are going to learn to sail, why not do it in a responsive, high performance sailboat?  On many boats a change in sail shape or rigging tension has little effect on performance. The Laser 28 is totally different.  Change any setting and you can see the result right away. This makes the learning process much easier.  Why learn in a slug when you could learn in a speedster?
